Founded in 1883, the IMA is among the largest general art museums in the United States, and has a long history of collecting Asian art. The exhibition also featured work from the Yorkshire Museum Trust (from the Bill Ismay and Dean Milner-White Collections); from the Lucie Rie and Bernard Leach Archives at the Crafts Study Centre, University College for the Creative Arts, Farnham; the Anthony Shaw Collection and from the private collections of the ceramicists themselves.

Stilled Lives is a new collaborative work bringing together artists, designers, poets and writers from across MMU. I take interest both in the Jungian archetypal events that define a lifetime, and in the uncertain, transitional lulls between those moments. Valenzuela is selected for the 2016-17 Open Sessions at The Drawing Center, New York. One MFA student of fiction and one of poetry, each introduced by a peer, will read their work. Innovation within the established arts and in new art forms such as Kabuki Theater, woodblock prints, porcelain and other decorated ceramics, and new schools of painting and calligraphy contributed to the vitality and energy of Edo culture.

A multi-disciplinary contemporary arts organization. Among Parker's devoted friends were Matilda Goddard and Caroline Coddington Thayer, each of whom presented the Library with the complete writings of Parker, including magazine articles and newspaper clippings. Street (or 'genre') portraits were the province of artists like Dorothea Lange (1895-1965), Walker Evans (1903-75), Diane Arbus (1923-1971), and Nan Goldin (b.1953); while more conventional portraits were developed by modernists like Cecil Beaton (1904-1980), Yousuf Karsh (1908-2002), Norman Parkinson (1913-90), Andy Warhol (1928-1987), David Bailey (b.1938) and Annie Leibovitz (b.1949). (Note: Given the widespread use of 'conventional' portraits in the press, many fashion photographers also took formal portraits.) The German-American photographer Hans Namuth (1915-90) introduced a new dynamic approach to portraiture with his photos of the controversial painter Jackson Pollock at work in his studio.
August 26 – October 22, 2016 I am pleased to be invited to show my work in an eight-artist exhibition of wood and fiber, Mind Over Matter, curated by Jorge Vidal at the Florida CraftArt Gallery. This exhibition features the work of the mid-century printmaker, painter, and commercial artist Charles Smith (1893–1987). Graduating graphic design students display their work in a BFA Show each year. Over 500,000 photographs by staff and contributing photographers, including the major wire services, covering the years from c.1906 to 1972.
